CANINE CAMP SLEEP-OVERS

IN-HOME BOARDING

First and foremost... WE ARE NOT A BOARDING FACILITY!

This is our home. When your dog stays with us they become a part of our family.  Because of this, we only allow a limited number of dogs to stay with us at one time.  Your dog will sleep in its own indoor pen or crate at night, and have full access to our park-like backyard multiple times throughout the day, as well as a chance to play with the other social sleep-over guests (and our 3 dogs). Your dog will be kept on the same feeding schedule that you already have them on. They will be put back in their pens throughout the day for "nap time". Since there is always someone home, your dog will receive plenty of love and attention also. They will be tended to by a Professional Dog Trainer and a Certified Veterinary Technician during their stay.

Regular Boarding Facilities

Some things to keep in mind when checking out a regular boarding facility (remember, we are not a boarding facility).

Most boarding facilities start you out at a low base rate and charge you extra for playtime, potty-breaks, dog walks, administering medications, and so on. Some places even charge you extra to feed your dog its own food!  If you forgo those extra luxuries, then your dog may spend 23 hours alone in a concrete kennel where it is forced to urinate and defecate in its own sleeping area. This adds to the stress your dog is already going through. Couple that with the constant barking in a regular facility, it is no wonder most dogs tear up the concrete when it's time to go home. And should you want to call and check up on your pup, we'll be able to tell you exactly how they are doing. Try calling a commercial boarding facility and asking how your dog is doing. I doubt the receptionist who answers the phone will even know your dog's name.

We charge a flat rate which includes all the luxuries listed above.  Because we only take in a limited number of dogs we are able to give your dog far more attention and play time than you could ever buy at a regular facility. There is no extra charge for administering medications or feeding your dog to your exact specifications. Since this is our home, we are able to provide around-the-clock companionship and can get them to a nearby Veterinary hospital should an emergency arise.

Another benefit we have over the other facilities is that we only take in socialized dogs. Our primary clients are our students who are given the link to this webpage. These are dogs that we know and train, and who know the trainer also. That relationship makes for a more comfortable stay while they are in our care. We do not advertise this to the general public because we don't want every dog to stay with us, just the good ones. This enables us to let the dogs spend more time outside. We give the dogs plenty of supervised play time with each other. Of course, we will also give them isolated play time should you request it.

Sleepover Rates

$40 per night for the first dog and $20 for every additional dog from the same home.

For your convenience we provide a pick-up and drop-off service for $15 each way (for homes North of the 101).

Why do we charge what we do? Fair question.

A lot goes into boarding a dog in our home. We devote a tremendous amount of our time making sure that your dog has a stress-free stay while they are with us. This means we take them out 8 to 10 times a day (approx every 1.5 to 2 hours) and play with them until they are exhausted (playtime varies with the weather of course). We feed them on the schedule that you set for us. We also makes sure their sleeping pens are cleaned and sanitized daily. Most dogs that stay with us receive more attention and play time than they normally would at home.

Your dog's day will usually start between 6:30 and 7:00 a.m., when they will go out for their first potty- break. They'll have breakfast around 7:30. They will get to go back out at 8:00 and again at 9:00 a.m.  Playtime will be approximately every 1.5 to 2 hours thereafter. The last trip outside will be between 10:00 and 10:30 p.m.

The Rules

We require your dogs to be current on their vaccinations which include: DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordetella. Be prepared to give us a copy of their vaccine history when you drop your dog off, or you can always call ahead and fax them to us. Remember, this is our home, we don't want any disease in it.

Female dogs in heat will not be allowed to stay with us.

Aggressive dogs (both human and dog aggressive) are not allowed to stay with us.

During the holidays we require payment in advance to ensure your reservation.

If this is your first stay with us, please print out the following form, fill it out, and bring it with you .

Vacancies

In this section we will list the dates that we have no vacancies. The earlier you can get your reservations in, the better. Since we can only take in a few dogs, we could book up very easily. However, if we list a date as "full" please don't hesitate to call so we can put you on a waiting list as clients cancel their plans from time to time.

PUPPIES AT PLAY

The greatest pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him, and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too. -- Samuel Butler
